"...'Look at you! You have to change!' And then he saw Christ and realized ' wow, I need to change...' "

Based on a sermon by Bunian Cocar

John the Baptist was a man who would always look at other people and tell them their mistakes and what they needed to change in their life. He would always tell them, "look at you, you are a hypocrite, change that! Look at you, you do this too much, and do this too little. Look at you, you do not love!" And then one day he saw Jesus Christ and realized "My Lord, it is I who needs to change!"

You can always find something in someone else that needs to change. You can influence another person, but you could never change them, that is their decision. That is why we should look at ourselves, and find out what we need to change about ourselves.

Change yourself, and through this other people will change.
My Lord, it is I who needs to change!

Following Christ

Worst feeling in the world:
Seperation from God
Best feeling in the world:
Walking with God

Many times I have spent so much effort in legalistically following Christ. While listening to Jeremy Camp God spoke to me and showed me that the best way I can follow Christ is to just come before Him; To fall on my knees and spend time with The One who created me. The world is flooded with books, magazines, and articles to read besides the Bible. They are not bad, but with them it is easy to neglect the power of the Bible. The ultimate source of our strength is from reading His Word and remaining in continual prayer with God. When we do that we don't have to try to follow Christ because we are already doing it, and our thoughts are in the right place, not self-serving, but Christ-serving.

Good-bye wedding photography!

Today I decided that I would not accept anymore jobs as a wedding photographer!
Why you ask? Three Reasons:

1. I simply dislike it, a lot of the time it doesn't involve much creativity.
2. It's the most stressful thing on the planet for me! I always think about if I am doing a good job or if they will like their pictures. Forget it! I don't want to worry about that stuff!
3. I no longer shoot for fun. I want to start shooting for fun, and for myself, and get that creative edge back. Wedding photography is repetitive, it makes you lose your creative touch.

I am so excited for the fact that I can now shoot for fun. I will continue to do weddings for my friends if they want me to because I do want my friends to have the best memories possible, and I do think I can do that for them! I love making memories!

A new day

Tonight is a great night! I get to start my blogging!
I think blogging is great because it is an excellent way to communicate with others, or just and easy to keep a journal open for the public.

My favorite verse is John 15:13
Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
